We help to grow resilient regional food systems that care for people and planet.
Here’s how:
-
We believe that reciprocal relationships are the foundation of this movement and that systems change only happens through trusting collaboration. Together we have over thirty-five years of experience starting and growing regional and national coalitions, networks and communities of practice. A cornerstone of our work is serving as the backbone facilitators and organizers of the Eastern Food Hub Collaborative, a network of food hubs located in the Eastern United States, working together to expand opportunities for farmers and equitable access to good food for all.
-
To transform the food system we must develop regional supply chains that are transparent, accountable, and driven by shared-values. We work with food hubs, nonprofits, and local governments to identify supply chain challenges and opportunities. Then we collaboratively design solutions that catalyze market development with a commitment to supporting local farmers, serving community, and investing in resilient supply chains.
-
Food is Medicine has the potential to revolutionize how we prevent and treat chronic disease; and as a $5.6B market opportunity, FIM programs that prioritize local sourcing also have the potential to transform our agriculture and food systems. We work to design regional supply chain solutions for this emerging market, to measure and tell the stories of impact, and to develop strategies that improve health, invest in local farms and food systems, and keep dollars circulating locally.
-
The Latin root of "facilitation" means "to create ease." The work that we are all doing is rarely easy, but that doesn't mean we can't find ease in how we communicate, collaborate, and grow beautiful ideas together. This work relies on great meetings, brave conversations, and inclusive processes to develop shared visions, goals, and strategy - all of which takes excellent facilitation.
-
We have deep experience working with networks, nonprofits, university partners, and local governments to design and lead participatory research projects that capture impacts, challenges, innovations, and opportunities for policy and programmatic changes across the sector.
